Ready for some insight & inspiration? Let’s connect on a free 30-minute call to explore your unique goals & begin your writer’s journey.
Are you standing at a life-defining crossroad, no longer able to ignore your longing to create; to share your unique gift with the world & to leave your legacy?
Midlife will do that to you. It will strip away distractions and reveal what truly matters in your life. It’s a time when depth and meaning become far more important than Lululemon and Botox. It’s a time when you begin to reflect on the span of your life, not just on the dreams you’ve realized, but on the ones still pulling at your soul.
Most importantly, it’s a time to break free from societal expectations and constraints; to pull away from the herd, and let the weight of others’ opinions slip away, so that you can gain the clarity and the courage to pursue what’s calling you.
The truth is, most of us—through no fault of our own—got swept up in the endless demands and ceaseless distractions of the first half of life. Perhaps we devoted ourselves to raising children, climbing the career ladder, and supporting our loved ones at the expense of ourselves, all while quietly pushing our dreams and creative aspirations to the back burner. (Hell, we may have even pulled them off the stove altogether and they’ve congealed into something we don’t even recognize.)
Part of the task of the second half of life is to go back & pick up the bits and pieces that we left behind—gifts, talents, capacities, interests, & passions. ~ James Hollis
If one of the “bits & pieces you’ve left behind” is your longing to write, and now your children have embarked on their own adventures, or your once-thriving career has lost its spark, or life’s unexpected challenges have left you reeling, you’re feeling something within you stirring, urging you to awaken to this deeper part of yourself to bring it fully into the light.
Perhaps one of your biggest fears is reaching the end of your life thinking: What a Waste! (Not because you didn‘t do things of great value, but because you know there is something more you are meant to do and be & share,) then you’re in the right place.
It’s time to remember who you really are & to reclaim your creativity.
Here is something I know, for sure. You don’t want to reclaim your creativity by following someone else’s rules or trudging through formulaic guides like How to Write Your Book in 5 Seconds. You want to create art for art’s sake, no matter what society tells you. This journey isn’t about ticking boxes or meeting external expectations. It’s the process that matters to you—the self-discovery, the evolution that happens along the way. You value what you’ll learn about yourself and how you’ll transform when you create from a deeper place—in other words when your True Self—your Soul—takes the wheel.
Sure, every writer I know faces the relentless battle of “applying ass to chair,” pushing through the resistance to simply sit down and do the work. But often there’s an even more insidious force at play—when you start thinking, Who’s going to care about what I have to say? Or worse, Will anyone even understand me? Writing can be an isolating journey without any compassionate witnesses, but the fear of not being heard, not being understood, might be the loneliest part.
To make matters worse…
Then, unknowingly, we allow the gatekeepers to hop onto our Creativity Bus (toot, toot!) and suddenly their voices in our heads are deafening. Who are the gatekeepers? Editors, agents, publishing houses, oh my—wonderful, well-meaning, talented people, yes, but during the creation phase, their presence can be destructive. This is not the time to let their daunting questions echo in your mind: “Will this make the NYT bestseller list? Do you have a platform of 9 gazillion followers? Could it be turned into a Netflix series?” If you don’t have the answers, they whisper, “Why even bother?” It’s like pelting yourself with rotten tomatoes—self-defeating and creatively paralyzing.
Here’s the truth: What you’re really wrestling with in midlife is the process of reclaiming your creativity by mining your inner gold.
This isn’t the time for gatekeepers, inflated egos, or the persona of a NYT best-selling author—that phase comes later, when it’s time to let your ego steer and get your work into the world. Right now, in the act of creating, it’s about that bus dropping you off so you can enter your innermost cave, pick up your tools, and unearth something real and raw. This is where you’ll find the most authentic art, the kind that transforms you—and by extension, transforms others.
The tension you face as a midlife creator lies between tapping into this deep authenticity and grappling with the fear of how your work will be received. On one hand, you’re called to create from the soul, from a place untouched by external validation; on the other, you’re navigating the world that demands a marketable persona, one that can sell your art and sustain your livelihood. Caught between these two forces—your True Self and the public face—you may feel a creeping sense of shame. It’s the shame that comes with exposing your innermost self to the world, that vulnerable moment of putting your soul on display. But this is the dance every artist must engage in, balancing the spirit of the depths with the spirit of the times. (Adapted from Joseph Lee from This Jungian Life podcast.)
The beauty is that each one of us has an inner companion who is trying to speak to us all the time—through our triggers, through our dreams, but even through our art if we’ve put our ego in the back seat. We just don’t know how to listen to this inner companion, but it’s the one responsible for that flow state. Whether we want to call it our soul, our psyche, our muse—it’s trying to help us to mine that inner gold and we DO want it driving our Creativity Bus.
I am here to guide you and to help you navigate the intricate and sometimes painful aspects of telling your story, leading you to a newfound sense of freedom and peace that you may have never thought possible when it comes to the tough parts of your past tales.
That’s where my 6-Month Private Coaching Program Comes in…
Ink & Insight: Navigate Your Inner Landscape, Rekindle Your Creative Passion & Craft a Fulfilling Second Half of Life
Ink & Insight is not your typical writing program, and it certainly doesn’t follow the formula for churning out a book in 5 seconds, managed by keyword-driven aspirations for Amazon bestseller status in obscure categories like: Alpaca / Yarn / Red.
It is a transformational experience meticulously designed for individuals in the midlife season who are ready to rekindle their neglected passions, resurrect dormant talents, and unveil the True Selves that have been shrouded in the midst of life’s chaos.
I firmly believe that finding your authentic voice and telling your life stories, regardless of what genre you’re writing in, ends up being a vessel of inspiration and transformation. Your story, your creative outpourings—they hold the power to illuminate the way forward, not only for you but for others too. As Robert Frost so eloquently said, “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader.”
I would humbly add my own voice to his wisdom & say, “No catharsis in the writer, no catharsis in the reader.”
If you truly aspire to create a profound piece of art, you must first venture through your own transformation during the creation process. That’s where I come in.
For over a decade, my unwavering passion has been helping writers bring their stories to life. My own love affair with writing began at the tender age of 8 when I penned my first tale about witches with carbuncles. My voracious appetite for reading across genres, and obtaining a Bachelors degree in English/Creative Writing and an MFA, only fueled my passion for the power of writing.
My qualifications extend beyond writing alone and encompass a multifaceted approach to mentoring. In 2013, I embarked on a transformative journey of coach training, beginning with Martha Beck’s Wayfinder life coach program in 2013. I then went on to become a certified Equus coach and a master-certified Jungian Depth coach, adding profound layers to my ability to facilitate personal growth and transformation. My diverse background in writing and my extensive coach training form a unique and dynamic combination that sets me apart.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of assisting authors in achieving remarkable milestones, including securing coveted spots on prestigious lists like the New York Times and USA Today bestsellers. I’ve witnessed the birth of thriving businesses that were sparked by the writing of their books (yes, even memoirs), and the subsequent prosperity that comes with finding their purpose. Yet, as significant as these achievements are, I’ve come to recognize that the most profound transformations occur at a much deeper level.
The heart of our collaborative work lies in guiding you to rewrite the core stories that have haunted you for years (yep, even in non-fiction and self-help.) This process is where true catharsis takes place and I act as a guide and a compassionate witness to the inherent force within you—a force that is whole and complete. I am a meaning maker and a pattern recognizer, with a distinct ability to perceive and intricately weave together the seemingly disparate threads in your writing into the most exquisite tapestry imaginable.
And if you’re wondering whether I have experienced a similar journey to yours, the answer is a resounding “yes.” The first half of my life was a relentless cycle of creating for others, of tirelessly building their dreams and helping them soar. To be clear, those years were profoundly rewarding, filled with accomplishments and joy, and a deep love for my clients. Yet this dedication and ceaseless effort came at a cost—the surrendering of my own creative soul and my own profound calling to write.
After what I can only describe as my “dark-year-and-a-half-to-two-years of the soul” (let’s not get it twisted, it’s far longer than a mere “dark night of the soul”)—a period marred by the profound losses of loved ones, grueling health struggles, and an MFA program that nearly crushed my identity as a writer, I had a deep epiphany. I realized there were hidden depths within me waiting to be unlocked and an inner permission that I urgently needed to grant myself in order to follow my longing to create. And even more than that, to allow myself and my work to shine.

Working Through the Blocks to Creativity & The Big One…Resistance
During our weekly discussions, we’ll tackle any blocks or resistance that may arise as you navigate the creative process.
